Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton escaped the struggles in her early life through her imaginative and creative imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she learned to read or write. In 8 years, she was playing her first guitar. At age 11 when she was 11, she began singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. In the same year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. While still in highschool she established herself locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. In 1964, the day following her graduation from high-school the singer moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer for his show that was syndicated at this point. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's program as the popularity of her individual records including Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton wrote I Will Always Love You in honor of Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It made it to No. Its first appearance at number 1 was in 1974.
