Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons A superstar who managed to fully transition from the traditional to making her an iconic popular icon, and sweeping the world in the process. Swift left country music like it was an additional layer, showing that she is perhaps the best pop-singer/songwriter in her generation. One who can harness the zeitgeist to make it personal, and sing in the other direction. The skills she displayed were apparent on her earliest hits especially the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining the mass market. Fearless became a worldwide hit, not only in the United States (where it earned six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia, the U.K. and other countries. Swift managed to build upon her popularity by releasing Speak Now almost two year after. She grew in popularity over the course of her three subsequent albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within an industry she felt was hers to be. Her popularity grew even after she altered her plan in 2020's more streamlined siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
