Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath in The romantic-drama film The Piano. Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington the city where she was born, she was the first actress to appear in The Piano. She moved from the city to New Zealand as a young child. After responding to a call for auditions, she was able to audition at the age of nine years old, with no acting experience before that the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora was the daughter of an Scottish pianist, who was deaf. They moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to arrange a marriage. In her teens her family relocated to the United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Also, she was the lead part in Fly Away Home, a movie from the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and also played a part as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She was a teenager as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
