Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek, a Mexican American actor born to Spanish as well as Lebanese parents and is Mexican. Salma Hayek grew up in Mexico into a rich Roman Catholic family. At the age of a small girl, she was introduced to the film "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory' caught her attention. After attending Mexico City's "Universidad Latinamericana," she felt prepared to enter the film industry. The first role she had as an actress came in the Mexican film telenovela, "Teresa.' Following her move to Hollywood, she was cast opposite Antonio Banderas in the movie 'Desperado.' Other roles followed, including 'Fools Rush In and Wild Wild West.' In 'Once Upon an Time in Mexico in which she was back, she played the role of "Desperado.' She later founded her own production house called Ventanarosa. She directed the Mexican film 'El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba". This is Mexico's entry in the Oscars for the category of "Best foreign film.' The production she was the executive producer of "Ugly Betty" was another accomplishment. The 1959 Primetime Emmy Awards nominated her for "Outstanding actor in Comedy Series" in the part of Sofia Reyes. In addition, she has been an endorser for products such as Revlon and Avon which is why she has created her own range of skincare, cosmetics and hair care products dubbed Nuance.' She is a supporter of the campaign for funding vaccines to treat maternal and neonatal Tetanus.
